Illegal immigrant arrested for ‘raping’ 15-year-old Albany girl in his car in crime-free upstate New York neighborhood

It has been reported that an illegal immigrant was arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in his car in northern New York State in May.

Sakir Akkan, 21, is accused of dragging the girl into his vehicle in Albany in the early hours of May 14 after first threatening her with a metal bar, according to court documents cited by News13. Akkan, of Turkey, then allegedly stripped the victim of her clothes and raped her, the indictment says.

He was arrested last week and charged with first-degree rape. He was arraigned in Albany City Court and pleaded not guilty before being remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility without bail. Akkan is a Turkish asylum seeker who crossed the southern border this year, the Times Union reported, and court records show he has an address in Troy, New York — but he is not a U.S. citizen.
