A Duncan man was killed in an accident on a Garvin County highway, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

A Duncan man was killed in a crash on a Garvin County highway, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.Open the video player above to see some of the headlines KOCO 5 is tracking.At about 3:10 p.m., 21-year-old James Martinez was driving a vehicle eastbound on OK-7, about 4 miles east of Hennepin. A pickup truck pulling a 32-foot flatbed trailer was also on the east side of the highway and was stopped by a road worker because a lane was closed in a construction zone, troopers said.The vehicle driven by Martinez collided with the rear of the trailer and he died of his injuries at the scene. At about 3:10 p.m., 21-year-old James Martinez was driving a vehicle eastbound on OK-7, about 4 miles east of Hennepin. A pickup truck with a 32-foot flatbed trailer was also on the east side of the highway and was stopped by a road worker because a lane was closed in a construction zone, troopers said.

The vehicle Martinez was driving collided with the rear of the trailer and he died at the scene of the accident. A passenger in the vehicle was taken to a Duncan hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released, police reported.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured. Martinez was not wearing a seatbelt, police reported.
