Kothagudem: A primary school teacher of a government school sent selfies of himself and students planting saplings to the school principal to prove his presence in the school. He was suspended after the principal found out that the teacher had skipped duty on Saturday after taking the photos.

District School Superintendent Venkateshwara Chary issued the suspension order for teacher Phani Bhasker, who had visited the school at Nehru Basthi in Kothagudem town in the morning hours but later left the school without permission and returned only in the late afternoon.

It was said that Bhasker took photographs along with the students while planting saplings in the school and showed them to the principal to prove his presence in the school. However, he later left the school without informing the principal.

During Bhasker’s absence, nine other students followed his example and skipped classes.

When the school principal realized that he had been misled by the pictures, he informed the authorities, who then took action against Bhasker.
