Accident involving ten cars on Hong Kong’s Tsing Ma Bridge leaves one injured, some lanes to the airport closed

One person was injured in an accident involving ten cars on the Tsing Ma Bridge in Hong Kong, prompting authorities to close some lanes to the airport.

According to the police, the accident on Saturday at around 11:48 a.m. mainly involved private cars. Pictures circulating on the Internet show that taxis were also apparently involved in the accident.

One person suffered minor neck injuries and at least one ambulance was on the scene.

The Ministry of Transport had closed some lanes on the part of the bridge leading to the airport.

The lower section of the Lantau Link remains open, while the overtaking lane of the Nam Wan Tunnel leading to the airport is closed to traffic, the authority said.

The bridge and the Nam Wan Tunnel were fully reopened at 2 p.m., it said.

The link includes the Tsing Ma Bridge, the Kap Shui Mun Bridge and the Ma Wan Viaduct.
