Suspect arrested after shooting in Urbana

He was taken into custody without incident.

Urbana, Md (KM) Charges have been filed in connection with a firearm incident Friday morning in Urbana. Adrienne Mendoza Milam, 48, is charged with three counts of reckless endangerment, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, possession of narcotics with a firearm and violation of a strict protection order.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office said officers were called to a home in the 3800 block of Braveheart Drive around 9:30 a.m. for an unknown emergency. When they arrived, they heard gunshots. They set up a barricade to prevent Milam from leaving the home. Authorities said he was the only occupant of the home.

Frederick County Emergency Management used reverse 911 to notify residents of the situation and ask them to stay away from the scene.

Shots continued to be fired from the house and the sheriff’s office said its repeated attempts to contact Milam were unsuccessful.

After about an hour, officers managed to reach Milam and ask him to leave the house. He was arrested without incident.

Frederick County Fire and Rescue personnel performed a precautionary evaluation on Milam and transported him to Frederick Health Hospital for evaluation.

According to the sheriff’s office, there were no injuries in this incident.
