Houston teenager injured in early morning crash in Pettis County

A 14-year-old Houston girl was injured in a car crash early Friday morning in Pettis County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that at approximately 12:55 a.m., a 14-year-old was traveling south on Route K and McCubbin Road in a 2012 Ford Fusion when the driver lost control of the vehicle, it went off the left side of the road and struck a culvert.

The girl suffered serious injuries and was flown by LifeFlight to Columbia University Hospital.

The Ford had significant damage and was towed away by InMotion.

Pettis County officials assisted the patrol. The report said it was unknown if the girl was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
