Philadelphia woman allegedly attacked 10-year-old boy at the pool of a motel in Wildwood Crest and bit arresting officer

WILDWOOD CREST, New Jersey (WPVI) – A Philadelphia woman faces multiple charges after allegedly attacking several people, including a child, and causing a scene at the pool of a motel in Wildwood Crest on the New Jersey shore.

She is also accused of pushing an officer and biting another.

Fallan Turner, 43, of Philadelphia, faces several charges, including endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated assault on police officers, disturbing the peace and criminal sexual abuse.

Wildwood Crest police officers responded to the Waikiki Oceanfront Inn in the 6200 block of Ocean Avenue around 2:30 p.m. Monday after receiving a report of a fight at the pool.

According to police, witnesses told officers that Turner was “very drunk” and acting “out of control” in the pool.

“When she was told that people didn’t want her there, she became angry and extremely unruly and did some very inappropriate things,” said Wildwood Crest Police Chief Robert Lloyd.

Officials were told that Turner allegedly grabbed a 10-year-old boy he was not associated with and “twirled him around in the pool and submerged him underwater.”

When the child’s father tried to intervene, she allegedly jumped on his back and grabbed him inappropriately.

Officers attempted to speak with Turner about the incident, but said she became aggressive and was arrested. While handcuffed, Turner allegedly punched the arresting officer in the face.

According to the officers, during the processing at the police headquarters she continued to behave in an extremely uncooperative and belligerent manner and is said to have even bitten a police officer on the hand.

According to officials, none of the officers were seriously injured.

A passerby reported to police that Turner had been observed drinking tequila throughout the day.

“It’s like most similar incidents: Intoxication is often involved, whether from alcohol or other substances,” Lloyd said. “That was pretty much the case here.”

Lloyd says the Crest is normally a peaceful, family-friendly place, but since the pandemic, they have seen more cases of this nature.

“It’s unfortunate. When you get into trouble with the police, you not only ruin your own vacation, but also the vacation of others who just want to have fun,” he said.

There was no comment from the motel management.

Turner is being held at the Cape May County Correctional Facility.
