Douglas County High School teacher arrested for sexually abusing child in Colorado

A 55-year-old high school teacher in Colorado is suspected of sexually abusing a child of a trusted adult. Detectives arrested Jim Thomure on Tuesday. He is listed as a social studies teacher on the Douglas County High School website.

The high school is in Castle Rock and Thomure lives in Centennial.

Officials with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office say the investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information that may help the investigation should contact them if they have not already done so. They did not say whether the victim is a high school student.

Thomure is being held at the Douglas County Detention Facility on $20,000 bail.
