Man stabbed to death after allegedly sexually harassing woman

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A man was stabbed to death after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in East Las Vegas.

According to police, the incident occurred at 3:34 p.m. in the 1000 block of Laurel Avenue, which branches off of Charleston Boulevard.

Investigators said there was a shed on a dirt lot in the area where the alleged sexual assault occurred.

Lt. Jason Johansson of the LVMPD’s homicide unit said a group of people heard a woman screaming and rushed to her aid, and that’s when the man was stabbed.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the man with stab wounds in a side alley. He was taken to the university hospital, where he later died.

As of 8:00 p.m., police are still on scene and continue to interview witnesses, including the female victim, and review surveillance footage.

Investigators said the group that helped the woman left the scene before officers arrived. Police are asking them to come forward because they want to question them to find out what happened.
