Local news: Pilot of agricultural aircraft killed in accident on Friday (14.06.24)

According to Poplar Bluff Regional Business Airport Director Gary Pride, an agricultural plane crashed near Highways FF and CC in eastern Butler County around 7 a.m. Friday morning.

The pilot was killed in the crash. He was delivering fertilizer to a nearby field when the accident occurred.

“It’s a local pilot,” Pride explained.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are investigating.

The pilot’s identity will be kept secret until his family is notified.

Pride said the National Transportation and Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration would also send investigators to the crash site.
