Third teenager arrested for killing cat outside Salem home

According to Salem police, detectives arrested the third teenager, a 15-year-old boy, in northeast Salem on Wednesday.

The teenager was charged with first-degree aggravated cruelty to animals, tampering with evidence and obstructing a police officer and was transferred to the Marion County Juvenile Justice Department.

Last week, detectives identified two more teens, both 17 years old, who were referred to Marion County Juvenile Justice. Both were charged with first-degree aggravated cruelty to animals. One of the teens was also charged with tampering with evidence.

The case is under investigation; anyone with information is asked to call the Salem Police tip line at 503-588-8477.
