Woman who works for Washoe County School District arrested for sexually assaulting 14-year-old | News

A woman who works for the Washoe County School District has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of sexual assault of a 14-year-old boy.

Early Friday morning, Reno Police officers received a report from a 14-year-old boy who said he had a sexual relationship with a 46-year-old woman, later identified as Caitlin Rock.

According to the WCSD website Rock works at Billinghurst Middle School. Her job description on the website is “Intervention” under “Support Staff.”

Detectives from the Royal Police Department’s Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit took over the case and arrested Rock after questioning her and the victim.

She is accused of several cases of sexual abuse of minors and sexual seduction.

A spokesperson for the Washoe County School District issued the following statement:

The Washoe County School District (WCSD) is appalled by these allegations and is not privy to the details of the criminal investigation. This alleged conduct is reprehensible and not representative of our staff, schools, or district.

Ms. Rock does not currently have a contract with WCSD as contracts for educational support staff expire today. The district will follow proper procedures moving forward.

WCSD is cooperating fully with the Reno Police Department in the ongoing criminal investigation.
