Former McDonald’s employee allegedly raped teenage colleagues in Pennsylvania

CLEARFIELD, Pa. (WTAJ) – A former McDonald’s worker in Clearfield has been accused of raping two teenagers he worked with.

Police said they became aware of a possible rape after a juvenile employee spoke to a counselor about the incident. The investigation led to Taylor James English, 29, of Curwensville, according to the charges.

English was accused of forcing the teenager to have sex with him in June 2023 behind the Super 8 Motel next to McDonald’s on Clearfield Shawville Highway after her shift and before his shift began. The teenager described the events in detail, saying that English held her by the hips and had sexual intercourse with her. She further told police that he threatened to kill her family if she did not say it was consensual, the criminal complaint states.

It was alleged that English also raped another co-worker, who was 16 at the time. Management told police that English was transferred to the night shift before she was eventually fired for bringing a gun to work, according to the indictment.

I was devastated to learn of these allegations last summer. As a small business owner here in Clearfield, it is critical to me that my employees feel safe and protected at work. Harassment or assault of any kind has absolutely no place in our organization. Immediately upon learning of these complaints, we took action to suspend and ultimately terminate this former employee.

Police found that the first victim told them that English video-called her and threatened her with a gun so that she would continue to claim they had consensual sex. Police later confirmed that the gun she described belonged to a woman English was dating at the time.

During the investigation, police said the teen described the area behind the motel and that there was a red cooler with a white lid. Police noted that they found the cooler, which no one could see unless they went into the bushes behind the motel.

English was charged with rape, witness intimidation, sexual assault, witness intimidation, unauthorized possession of a firearm and lesser offenses.

According to court documents, English was served with a summons for a preliminary hearing in July.
