Construction work on the northern motorway will lead to lane closures at the weekend

A portion of the North Freeway is closed this morning and will remain closed through the weekend for construction.

The northbound lanes are expected to reopen at 3:00 p.m. today. The southbound lanes will remain closed from 4:00 p.m. today until 3:00 p.m. tomorrow.

All traffic will exit the freeway at the West Mount Houston/249 ramp, continue on the access road, and merge back onto the main lane at the ramp before W Gulf Bank Rd.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and expect delays.
