Woman hospitalized after stabbing in downtown Fresno, police said

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) – A woman is in the hospital after being stabbed in downtown Fresno.

According to Fresno police, officers were in the area of ​​Broadway and Fresno Street shortly after midnight Friday when they saw a woman with a bloody face.

Officers began treating the woman and found that she had suffered at least two stab wounds to her chest.

She was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and her condition is unknown.

Officials said they have located a crime scene at the Masten Towners Senior Center and would like to speak to witnesses.

Authorities say the victim is being cooperative as investigators try to determine the motive behind the stabbing.
