Palestinian police describe bizarre incident

Palestinian police spokesman Colonel Luay Erzeiqat described an incident in which a man attacked a police officer in Hebron on Tuesday, inflicting moderate injuries and then stabbed himself.

Erzeiqat said the attacker left his house armed with a knife with the intention of killing any armed security guard he could find.

The motive was his own initiative and influenced by inflammatory materials he had seen in the media. However, the attack was not orchestrated by an organized organization.

He clarified that the injured officer received the necessary medical treatment and suffered numerous wounds to his chest, neck, head and hand.

He stressed that the security forces and police would not let up in enforcing the law and ensuring the security of the country and its citizens.
