Last month, a fire was deliberately set in the village of Cleveland, and charges have been filed against the suspected arsonist.

The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office reports that the fire started on May 26 at a home at 1181 Franklin Drive and multiple fire departments were deployed to fight the fire. During the subsequent investigation, the sheriff determined that arson was the cause, which led to the arrest of the suspect, 52-year-old Kristin Dewar of Cleveland.

Dewar was taken into custody without incident and charged by the Manitowoc County District Attorney with three counts of recklessly endangering safety and one count of dangerous burning of a structure. Following her bail hearing, Dewar was released on signature. The case remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office.
