Ezra Mansoor, 6 weeks, fatally mauled by family husky

A six-week-old baby sleeping in his crib was bitten to death by the family dog.

Little Ezra Mansoor succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, six days after the seemingly tame husky attacked his home in Knoxville, Tennessee.

“Being his mother was the greatest honor and the best thing I have ever done,” the infant’s grieving mother, Chloe Mansoor, told WVLT.

Ezra was in critical condition in the hospital for nearly a week before he died, according to his first-time parents. His life-threatening injuries included a brain hemorrhage and brain swelling.

The “completely unprovoked” attack took the family by surprise.

The dog, which they had owned for eight years, was one of two in the house, although neither had a history of aggressive behavior.

Although little Ezra’s life was tragically cut short, his parents Mark and Chloe have decided to help other babies in need by donating his organs, according to an online fundraiser.

Working to save the lives of others has given them peace during the heartbreaking grieving process.

“Really don’t take anything for granted, even if it’s a moment where you’re upset or frustrated. All those little moments are still so amazing,” Chloe Mansoor told the outlet.

“Really pray for the whole family, everyone loved him so much. I know everyone is grieving right now, we are grieving right now, and it will be a lifelong process to process this.

The dog has since been taken to an animal shelter while the Knox County Sheriff’s Office investigates. The dog’s future or whether charges will be filed is still unclear.
