Man arrested after allegedly raping four-year-old girl in McDonald’s playground toilet

Oklahoma authorities are investigating after a man allegedly raped a four-year-old girl in the restroom of a McDonald’s in Midwest City.

Joshua David Kabatra, 37, was arrested on two counts of first-degree rape and one count of lewd acts on a child in connection with the July 16 incident, KFOR reported.

Daycare workers who observed the victim told police they were concerned when the four-year-old went to the bathroom in the restaurant’s play area alone and did not return “for some time.”

The caretakers said they knocked on the door for some time before Kabatra came out with his arms raised and claimed, “I was just washing my hands.”

Officers arriving at the scene spoke with the suspect, who allegedly told them he was at the playground when he became ill and went to the restroom, where he found the child sitting on the toilet. Kabatra claimed he then vomited into the sink and washed his hands before leaving the restroom.

When the caregivers asked the child if and where Kabatra had touched her, the four-year-old said “yes” and pointed to her genital area, KOKH reports.

“Apparently he had gone into the bathroom where the little girl was and abused the child,” Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clables told the station.

In a statement, McDonald’s said: “Nothing is more important to us than the safety and well-being of our customers.”

“We are deeply disturbed by the incident that occurred at one of our restaurants in Oklahoma earlier this week,” the company added. “We are cooperating fully with police during the investigation. During this time, our thoughts are with the victim and others affected by this incident.”
