The Moffat County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for assistance in investigating animal cruelty

On May 13, a Moffat County Sheriff’s Office deputy discovered a dead puppy near the intersection of Moffat County Roads 22 and 24. Upon further investigation, two more dead puppies were found. All three had been shot.

Three other live puppies were also discovered at the same location and safely rescued. They are currently being cared for by the Humane Society of Moffat County.

All six puppies were males and estimated to be about four months old.



The Moffat County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the discovery and is asking the public for help. Anyone with information regarding the puppies should contact the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office at 970-824-4495.
