Motorcyclist dies after accident on North Coast Road

A 25-year-old motorcyclist died yesterday in an accident on the North Coast Road.

The deceased was identified as 52-year-old Randy Thomas of Pork Chop Hill in Maraval.

The incident occurred on Friday evening around 5:45 p.m. near the Maracas Look Out.

Thomas was said to be riding a black Suzuki motorcycle in the eastbound lane. As he approached the viewpoint, his motorcycle skidded and he entered the westbound lane, which was occupied at the time by a silver Nissan MV200 truck driven by a 59-year-old man from Barataria.

Thomas was thrown from his bike.

Police and paramedics were immediately notified and Thomas was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital.

However, he died shortly after his arrival.
