Psychological counselor at Upstate school accused of sexual abuse

GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – A Greenville school counselor is accused of sexually abusing a minor.

Greenville police said 42-year-old Christopher Haines was arrested Friday and charged with unlawful conduct with a child, third-degree sexual abuse of a minor, sexual solicitation of a minor and first-degree assault.

Investigators said the minors reported to authorities in April that they had been sexually abused by Haines.

Haines was responsible for the minor’s welfare, police said.

According to police, Haines was employed by the South Carolina State Department of Health and was assigned to work at the West Greenville School.
