One person has been pronounced dead after an officer-involved shooting in Midland Friday night

Two MPD officers have been placed on administrative leave per policy while the Texas Rangers investigate the officer-involved shooting.

MIDLAND, Texas – According to the City of Midland, an officer-involved shooting occurred in the 3100 block of Roosevelt Avenue in Midland on Friday, May 10, at approximately 6:41 p.m.

The Midland Police Department was alerted to a disturbance involving weapons.

Shots were reportedly fired and one person was later pronounced dead at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Two MPD officers have been placed on administrative leave per policy while the Texas Rangers investigate the officer-involved shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
