Gusau and others visit Babangida after a terrible accident

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau and some members of the NFF Executive Committee on Sunday paid a condolence visit to former Nigeria international and President of the Nigeria Professional Football Federation, Tijani Babangida, who was involved in a horrific accident along Kaduna-Zaria Road last Thursday, The punches Reports.

Babangida, his wife and his maid are still recovering from varying degrees of injuries sustained in the accident that killed his brother and 1993 U-17 World Cup winner Ibrahim Babangida.

The former international and his wife were also affected by the death of their one-year-old son Fadil, who reportedly died on Friday evening during an operation as a result of the accident.

In the picture shared by the NFF, Babangida, who was shifted to a hospital in Abuja, had his leg bandaged and needed crutches for support while his wife was said to have successfully undergone facial surgery following the accident.

“The delegation met Tijani Babangida at a hospital in Abuja where he was transferred from ABUTH and mourned the death of his brother and son to the former World Cup star and prayed for a speedy recovery for him and his dear wife who is dead is still in intensive care at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Zaria,” the NFF said in a statement on its website.

In the delegation were member Timothy Heman Magaji and Secretary General Mohammed Sanusi, NFF Technical Director, Coach Augustine Eguavoen; NPFL Board member, Jude Anyadufu, former Nigeria international and Bauchi State Football Association Chairman, Pascal Patrick; former Nigerian national goalkeeper Emmanuel Babayaro; former Nigeria international, Austin Popo; prominent football stakeholder, Abubakar Danfulani and; former Nigeria international and special assistant to NFF President Nasiru Jibril.

Babangida’s brother Ibrahi was buried in Kaduna on Friday in accordance with Islamic law.
