Suspect in custody after 2 people injured in West Temple incident | News

A suspect was in custody Saturday after she allegedly attacked a woman and her daughter who confronted the person about a traffic accident in West Temple, police said.

The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of West Adams Avenue and Westfield Boulevard.

When Temple police arrived, “officers located the victim, who stated she and her daughter went to the vehicle that struck her to discuss the accident. A woman exited the vehicle and began attacking both of them,” the city said in a news release. “A bystander came to the aid of the victim who was being attacked, and the woman ran back to her vehicle, got in and struck the adult victim as she fled the scene.”

Both victims were taken to a Temple hospital for medical treatment and are in stable condition, the city said.

The suspect was located by officers and taken into custody. Her identity was not immediately released.
