Police are searching for the suspect in the Henrico carjacking

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Henrico County police are searching for a man accused of stealing someone’s car from a business parking lot in late April.

On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Henrico Police responded to a report of a carjacking at a business in the 4000 block of Nine Mile Road.

Surveillance video from the night before the theft shows a white man wearing a black backpack, a dark jacket and gray sweatpants moving around inside the store.

“During this time, the unknown white male was also seen interacting with another individual in a black Nissan Altima,” police said.

Footage from outside the store taken early Wednesday morning shows a white man of similar build wearing gray sweatpants approaching the Nissan. Police said this man is believed to be the same person seen the night before, but now wearing a different outfit.

The man can then be seen getting into the Nissan and driving away.

According to police, footage taken later Wednesday shows a man believed to be the suspect returning to the store to retrieve a motorcycle he had reportedly left there.
