15-year-old arrested after fatal stolen car chase in Martin County

Martin County sheriff’s deputies arrested one of the survivors of a car crash that killed three teenagers after police pursued him in Martin County early Tuesday morning. A total of five teenagers were in the stolen car when it left the road and plowed through trees before crashing into the water at the end of a high-speed police chase. Three of the inmates died. Two survived. The two survivors were initially taken into custody but were later released. One of those two is the teenager who is currently in a Martin County juvenile detention center and is facing multiple felony charges. The 15-year-old was arrested this evening in Palm Beach County with assistance from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office TAC Unit and the Martin County Warrants Unit. Authorities brought him back to Martin County and sent him to prison before transferring him to a juvenile detention center. He is charged with two felony counts of possession of stolen credit cards, two felony counts of possession of personal identification information and one count of resisting arrest without violence. All offenses were upgraded to 2nd degree felonies because he was wearing a ski mask during the crime. The teen has not been charged with anything in connection with the crash. It remains unclear who was driving the car during the chase. The other surviving teenager has not yet been charged. WPBF is not releasing the teen’s name because he is a minor. The three teenagers who died in the crash are Jerry Choisy, 19, Geovany Alexis, 18, and Marcus Griffin, 17, all of Lake Worth.
