Winchester, NH man arrested in connection with multiple robberies in VT, police say

A Winchester, New Hampshire man has been charged in connection with several robberies in Brattleboro, Vermont, police said. Brattleboro police said officers received a report of a burglary from an office on Flat Street on Monday, July 15. Authorities said Richard Lee, 40, of Winchester, New Hampshire, allegedly stole a pop-up tent from the Flat Street building. Police said Lee was later arrested on Tuesday, July 23, and held on $1,000 bail in connection with the alleged robbery. Police also said Lee was charged in connection with several other burglaries on Flat Street from July 10 to July 15. On Thursday, July 25, Brattleboro officers responded to another report of a burglary at Shin La on Main Street. According to police, Lee allegedly smashed a window, broke into the restaurant and stole a cash drawer and several other items. The next day, according to Brattleboro police, officers found Lee on Putney Road and attempted to arrest him before he fled into the woods near Connecticut River Drive. He was later arrested in connection with the alleged burglary at Shin La and held on $5,000 bail. Lee is scheduled to appear in Windham County Superior Court on Monday. Brattleboro police said the burglaries are under investigation.

Brattleboro police said the break-ins are currently under investigation.
