Buffalo Bill Brawl opens first day of fights Saturday at D&N Event Center

“The show is going great,” said Brad Garrick, owner of Legion Combat Sports and a North Platte city councilman. “The fans are great. The fights have been great. Everything is going great.”

Garrick said the event ended with 36 fights over two days. He added that a few teams had to drop out because they couldn’t make it to North Platte.

The day began with a session at noon and ended with a session at 5 p.m., where several fights took place in different age and weight categories.

Saturday’s fights were broadcast live, with thousands watching.

“There’s definitely a demand for this stuff,” Garrick said. “Everybody loves to see someone get punched in the face.”

The Buffalo Bill Brawl will conclude with a final session on Sunday at noon.

The Buffalo Bill Brawl featured fighters from Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Wyoming, Utah and other states.

Championship belts will be presented to the winners on Sunday. Saturday’s winners received trophies.

Gates will open at 11am for spectators. Weigh-ins and vitals measurements will take place from 6am to 9am.

“Honestly, if we can keep this up, I’d be thrilled,” Garrick said. “Everything is going exactly as I imagined.”
