Balasor: A man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for raping a minor girl in Simulia area of ​​Balasore district.

A special court in Pocso also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the convict Gangadhar Jena. If he fails to pay, the convict faces another two years in prison.

The verdict was based on the testimony of 14 witnesses and 23 documents submitted to the court. The incident reportedly took place on January 12, 2023, in the Simulia police station area of ​​Balasore district.

The victim’s family had filed a complaint against Jena at the Simulia police station and accused the defendant of rape in a forest area.
