Land winds bring storms inland and windy beaches – Action News Jax

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – First Alert Meteorologist Corey Simma monitors the storms Saturday.

Showers and thunderstorms are moving from southeast Georgia toward I-10/The Metro. Rain will be concentrated on and west of I-95 tonight.

Onshore winds will prevail tomorrow. There could be isolated showers along the coast in the morning.

Most of the rain/storm events will move well inland by tomorrow afternoon. Jax is expecting rain late morning and early afternoon tomorrow.

A very similar wind pattern will prevail on land on Monday. It will be windy on the beach and temperatures will be a little cooler than in recent days.

On Jax, it was 90 degrees or higher for 37 days in a row – this streak is in danger on Sunday and Monday.

From Tuesday to Friday, offshore winds will return, heating us up and increasing the chance of storms.

In the tropics, there is an area to keep an eye on in the Central Atlantic. Disorganized thunderstorms will approach the Caribbean early to mid-next week.

Until then, the conditions for development are somewhat better. The forecast models are divided – one says nothing, the other says something – we will know a lot more by next Tuesday/Wednesday.
