Southwest Houston Neighbors Share Video of Alleged Peeping Tom

The man was only charged with criminal trespassing, which worried neighbors.

HOUSTON — Neighbors caught on camera Sunday night the sixth arrest of a man in as many years — it happened minutes after someone reported him looking into their window.

“You know, it’s months and months without him, he’s in jail, he’s out of jail, but he keeps coming back,” Gavi Lomnitz said.

He and other neighbors said the man, who we are not identifying at this time, is something of a legendary nuisance in their Brays Oaks-area subdivision.

They even shared a video of him prowling around a backyard last week. The yard was made more easily accessible by a damaged fence that was taken down during Beryl. He appears to have stopped in front of a set of glass doors later in the video.

“We have footage of him for about 45 minutes looking into a child’s window,” Lomnitz said. “It’s really, really disturbing.”

Lomnitz is not the only one who wants to get the message across.

“I was hoping he would get the help he needed or move on,” said Daniel Gross, a father of two.

Gross said it was the same man he caught searching his home four years ago and added that he had previously been told the man might have mental issues.

“So he needs help,” Gross said. “You know, we shouldn’t have to worry about someone looking in my kids’ room or my room or things like that.”

According to court documents, the man was only charged with criminal trespass, which is normally a Class B misdemeanor. We’re told more charges are possible when, or if, things escalate. It’s something neighbors said they hate to think about.

“I don’t want to be here talking to you again in a year or two years,” Gross said of the possibility of something worse happening.

Neighbors thanked a contracted sheriff’s deputy who was working Sunday night for his quick response. They said that, if nothing else, others in the neighborhood may now be aware of the situation and be on guard.
