Kevin O’Connell and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah discuss the incident with Jordan Addison

EAGAN, Minn. — Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell and general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah expressed their disappointment Monday over the arrest of Jordan Addison on suspicion of driving under the influence in California earlier this month.

“We’re disappointed in Jordan. We care about those players. We really do, and we want to make sure we’re doing our part to develop them on the field,” O’Connell said. “The other aspect of that is life off the field and life skills and developing decision-making and learning how important it is, you know, in our culture that we’re very proud of, that our players understand personal responsibility and accountability.

“You put your arms around those guys and make sure they know we care about them, but at the same time, they need to hear those messages and understand things that are not acceptable by any means, and we need to continue to utilize the resources that we have as an organization,” O’Connell said. “The way Kwesi and I have really tried to build our locker room and our team, I think it’s really important that the discipline of things is an accountability — personal responsibility. Those are things that we’ll talk about, and I’ll talk to Jordan about it personally, but at the same time, there’s going to be an ongoing legal process in the NFL.”
