We cannot prevent traffic accidents through laws

On the afternoon of July 20, a teenager walked onto Lincoln Street, her head engrossed in her phone, and crossed the street despite a “No Crossing” sign. Thankfully, I saw her and pulled over. With other drivers, she might not have been so lucky.

Only a few minutes later, as I was waiting to turn left from Burncoat into Millbrook Street, a car became impatient and decided to overtake me. Soon it was in front of me, Also trapped by oncoming traffic.

It was no better going the other way. In Millbrook, where it reaches Burncoat, there is a no turning rule on red lights, so sometimes there are serious traffic jams. One car decided to pull out of line and drive on the wrong side of the road. I don’t know what happened when it reached Burncoat, but you have to assume it was annoying for everyone.
