Investigation into the fire in Carrick, which left one resident and three firefighters hospitalized, is ongoing

A resident and three firefighters were taken to the hospital after a fire broke out in an apartment building in Pittsburgh’s Carrick neighborhood. The fire was reported just after 7 p.m. Sunday in a building in the 2500 block of Brownsville Road. The deputy fire chief said crowds in one part of the building made fighting the fire even more difficult. The three firefighters who were hospitalized suffered from heat exhaustion. The condition of the resident who was taken to the hospital was not immediately known. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
