Former Linn-Mar coach accused of sexually abusing boys sentenced to 14 years | Crime & Courts

MARION, Iowa (KWWL) — Kameron Beets, the former Linn-Mar High School track coach accused of sexually abusing young boys, has been sentenced to serve 14 years in prison.

In September 2021 Beets was accused of abusing a 15-year-old boy and 17-year-old boy on school grounds, both of whom were coached by Beets.

Beets had pled guilty to the charges of sexual abuse in the third-degree, sexual exploitation by a school employee and assault with the intent to inflict sexual abuse with no injury.

However, they were Alford pleas, meaning that Beets is maintaining his innocence.
