Woman hit and killed on NE Lombard Street in Portland

PORTLAND, Oregon (KPTV) – A woman was struck and killed in northeast Portland early Sunday morning, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Shortly after 3 a.m., police responded to Northeast Lombard Street in the Cully neighborhood, where a driver reported hitting a pedestrian with his 2015 Nissan Altima.

Officers said they found the woman dead at the scene of the accident. The driver left the scene of the accident but called police from nearby, PPB said.

Northeast Lombard Street was closed for about five hours Sunday morning while the serious injury response team investigated the accident scene.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and no one has been arrested yet.

According to PPB, this is the 33rd fatality on Portland’s streets and the 12th involving a pedestrian.
