Man from Linden and grandson die in motorway accident

A man from Linden and his young grandson have been proven to have died in an accident that occurred this afternoon on the Soesdyke-Linden motorway.

The dead man was identified as former national soccer player Carlyle Hunte of Rainbow City, Linden. The identity of the dead child was given as Malique Roberts.

However, two other grandchildren who survived the accident were admitted to Mackenzie Hospital in serious condition.

The grandfather, Carlyle Hunte, was reportedly the driver of the car involved in the collision with a logging truck. It is believed that Hunte, who was on his way to Linden, may have lost control and crashed into the truck, causing his car to roll over several times.

The car was recently purchased and still had dealer plates. The investigation is ongoing.
