A man wanted for aggravated murder following a Nov. 19 slaying in Youngstown has been arrested in Atlanta.

Kaylon Adams, 32, was wanted by the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office on charges of aggravated murder, felonious assault, improper discharge of a firearm while under license and possession of a weapon while under disability during the shooting death.

On November 19, Youngstown police officers responded to Zents Avenue and found the body of Christian Allan Oliver, 29, in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. A 73-year-old woman was also shot in the leg and treated.

Adams was later identified as a person of interest in the fatal incident and warrants were issued for his arrest.

This week, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force received information that Adams was in the Atlanta, Georgia area.

Adams was arrested Thursday by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, with assistance from the Fulton County Police SWAT Team and the Atlanta Police Department, near the 2000 block of Sandtown Rd in Atlanta. In addition to the arrest, three firearms were found at the residence. Adams was booked into the Fulton County Jail, awaiting extradition to Ohio.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said, “This violent fugitive attempted to evade arrest by fleeing hundreds of miles from Youngstown, Ohio, to Atlanta, Georgia, but the collaborative efforts of our task force and our state and local partners in Mahoning County led to his arrest.
