Bexar County jury finds man guilty of sexual abuse of a child and sentences him to 70 years

SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio man was convicted of sexually abusing a child in early July, officials said.

Felix Marfil sexually abused the victim in the spring of 2023. Two weeks after the incidents, the victim told an adult what Marfil had done to her. Local law enforcement launched an investigation immediately after the outcry.

Last week, a Bexar County jury found Marfil guilty of aggravated assault of a child and sexual abuse of a child. The jury sentenced him to 70 years in prison for the first count and 20 years for the second count. The sentences are to be served concurrently.

Marfil must also register as a sex offender with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

“The verdict and appropriate punishment for the crimes committed against children demonstrate our community’s tireless commitment to protecting our youth,” said District Attorney Joe Gonzales.
