PTI suspends Sher Afzal Marwat’s membership

The Pakistan Movement for Justice (PTI) has suspended the membership of Sher Afzal Marwat due to violations of party discipline.

In the statement issued by PTI General Secretary Omar Ayub on Friday, Marwat’s violation of party discipline was cited as the reason for the suspension.

According to PTI sources, an inquiry committee has been set up to probe Sher Afzal Marwat’s breach of party discipline. The inquiry committee includes Raoof Hassan, Brigadier (retired) Musaddiq Malik, Firdous Shamim Naqvi and Dawood Khan Kakar.

According to sources, the inquiry committee will investigate Sher Afzal Marwat’s violation of party discipline and submit a report to the PTI founder. Until then, Sher Afzal Marwat’s membership in the main organisation will remain suspended.

The statement also pointed out that Marwat had already been removed from both the political committee and the core committees.

The decision to suspend Marwat’s membership was taken on the instructions of PTI chairman Imran Khan. According to sources, Khan had ordered Marwat’s suspension a day earlier after he publicly expressed disagreement with the party leadership.
