According to the GHA, approximately 7% of people who attend the Well Person Unit for sexual health reasons test positive for a sexually transmitted disease.

Many of the people who tested positive have no symptoms.

Speaking on the Gibraltar Today programme, Well Person Unit professionals urged sexually active people to be examined at the Primary Care Centre once or twice a year, depending on their social situation.
