Man dies after car crash in Wilkinson County

The 88-year-old man crashed into a tree on Mt. Carmel Road on Saturday and died a day later, according to the Wilkinson County Sheriff’s Office.

WILKINSON COUNTY, Georgia – A man is dead after a crash in Wilkinson County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

It happened on Saturday when 88-year-old James Jones was driving on Mt. Carmel Road in McIntyre when he left the road and crashed into a tree.

He was taken to Atrium Health Macon, where he succumbed to his injuries around 2:45 p.m. Sunday, according to the Wilkinson County Sheriff’s Office.
