In the last 48 hours, Israeli forces killed four journalists in Gaza, bringing the total number of media workers killed since October 7 to 158.

Palestinian journalist Amjad Jahjouh was killed on Saturday morning along with his wife, journalist Wafaa Abu Dabaan, and their child in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

On Friday evening, Palestinian journalists Saadi Madoukh and Ahmed Sakr were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Madoukh family home in the Al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City.

Palestinian sources reported that the bodies of five martyrs were recovered from the rubble of the attacked house.

Palestinian activists released a video showing the destruction of the Madoukh family home and the rescue of martyrs and injured people.

Images of the late journalist Saadi Madoukh holding a camera on a street in the Gaza Strip also circulated on Palestinian websites and social media platforms.

With the deaths of the four reporters, the number of Palestinian journalists killed since the start of the Israeli war against the Gaza Strip on October 7 rises to 158.

The Palestinian Center for the Protection of Journalists condemned the killing of the two journalists in the Al-Daraj neighborhood, pointing out that their killing came just one day after the assassination of Al-Quds TV journalist Mohammed Al-Sakani, who was killed in a similar bomb attack on his family home in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza City.

In a statement, the center claimed that these ongoing attacks on Palestinian journalists are the result of decisions by the Israeli authorities aimed at covering up facts and preventing the exposure of the massacres of civilians in the Gaza Strip.

The statement described the attacks on Palestinian journalists in the Gaza Strip as the bloodiest in modern history and called for an independent and comprehensive international investigation into Israeli crimes against journalists.

Ongoing genocide

Israel, which is currently on trial before the International Court of Justice for genocide against the Palestinians, has been waging a devastating war against Gaza since October 7.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry In Israel’s genocide in the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, 38,098 Palestinians were killed and 87,705 injured.

In addition, at least 11,000 people are missing and are believed to be lying dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Gaza Strip.

According to Israel, 1,200 soldiers and civilians were killed during the flood relief operation in Al-Aqsa on October 7. Israeli media reported that many Israelis were killed by friendly fire that day.

Palestinian and international organizations say the majority of the dead and injured are women and children.

The Israeli war led to an acute famine, especially in the north of the Gaza Strip, and caused the deaths of many Palestinians, especially children.

The Israeli aggression also resulted in the forced displacement of nearly two million people from across the Gaza Strip. The vast majority of those displaced were forced to the densely populated southern city of Rafah, near the Egyptian border. It was the largest mass exodus from Palestine since the Nakba of 1948.

As the war progressed, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians began to move from the south to central Gaza in search of safety.
