Buffalo officials say at least 3 parks were damaged on July 4

Buffalo Department of Public Works officials say at least three city parks were damaged during July 4 celebrations.

DPW officials said two baseball fields, one in Cazenovia and one in Riverside, were damaged by people lighting fireworks that burned parts of the infields of both fields. Olmsted crews are working to repair both baseball fields.

Trash cans were also burned at Shoshone Park, and authorities believe fireworks were the cause.

City crews also say a large amount of debris was left by park visitors Thursday in and around the Centennial Wading Pool at Ralph C. Wilson Park.
