A rideshare driver is accused of exposing his genitals and sexually assaulting a customer

Toronto police have charged a rideshare driver after a customer was allegedly sexually assaulted Wednesday afternoon.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., officers were called to the area of ​​Jane Street and Trethewey Drive for reports of a sexual assault.

According to investigators, a person requested a ride through a ride-sharing app and was picked up by the suspect.

According to police, while driving, the driver exposed his genitals and then sexually assaulted him.

The customer was able to get out of the vehicle and call the police

Police did not say which ride-sharing company the driver worked for.

On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, 27-year-old Rajwinder Bhangu of Brampton turned himself in to police and was charged with indecent act and sexual assault.
