Two Clarion men injured in car crash Saturday night in rural Wright County. – KQRadio


Two Clarion men were injured in a one-car crash on Wrigh County Road R-33 northeast of Eagle Grove just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday night. The Iowa State Patrol reported that a 2014 Toyota Camry driven by 19-year-old Yefri Lopez of Clarion was traveling northbound when the car left the road and into the east ditch, overturned and came to rest on its driver’s side. Lopez was ejected from the car while a passenger, 25-year-old Joel Cifuentes of Clarion, was trapped in the car’s passenger seat. Lopez was taken by Eagle Grove EMS to Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge for treatment. Cifuentes was taken by Unity Point ambulance to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines for treatment. In addition to the Iowa State Patrol, members of the Wright County Sheriff’s Office and Eagle Grove police responded to the scene.
