It was learnt that six officials of the Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) and the Jal Nigam were suspended on Friday on the directions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanth following reports of road collapse and flooding at several places on the newly constructed Rampath in Ayodhya.

The suspended officials include Dhruv Aggarwal (superintendent engineer), Anuj Deshwal (assistant engineer) and Prabhat Pandey (junior engineer) of the Public Works Department and Anand Kumar Dubey (superintendent engineer), Rajendra Kumar Yadav (assistant engineer) and Mohammad Shahid (junior engineer) of the Jal Nigam.

According to media reports, road collapses occurred at more than ten places on the Rampath, which was built ahead of the inauguration ceremony of the Ram Temple in the city.
