A teenager and a man were arrested on suspicion of being involved in an April car-to-car shooting in Rancho Cucamonga that left a driver injured, the California Highway Patrol said Wednesday, May 8. with.

On Tuesday, April 2, at approximately 4:22 p.m., a shooting occurred where someone in a car shot at another person in another car on the westbound 210 Freeway, east of Haven Avenue, in Rancho Cucamonga .

An 18-year-old man from Alta Loma, a neighborhood in Rancho Cucamonga, was struck by a gunshot and taken to Pomona Valley Hospital with serious injuries, a CHP statement said.

The victim, who was driving a black Kia Soul, continued to the Campus Avenue exit in Upland after the shooting.

After an investigation, officers arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of being the shooter and a 21-year-old man believed to be the driver of the suspect vehicle, Wednesday’s statement said. Both suspects are residents of Rancho Cucamonga.

They were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a firearm, Wednesday’s statement said. Officials did not initially identify the man who was arrested. Juvenile suspects are generally not publicly identified.

Information about the motive and the victim’s current condition, if known, was not immediately provided.
