Heat warning for New Jersey remains in effect; isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon

NOW NEW: Hottest weekend of the year with heat indices of 100-110 degrees today and tomorrow. No cooling from heat with a few showers and thunderstorms. Cooling will likely begin mid next week as we approach the mid/upper 80s. There is a full moon tonight.

NEXT: I’m observing that temperatures will drop a bit next week.

TONIGHT: Mostly sunny with a few passing clouds. Afternoon light showers, drizzle, isolated thunderstorms. Highs around 98. Overnight lows 76.




SUNDAY: Partly sunny with afternoon/evening thunderstorms. Highs will remain mild, near 98. Nighttime lows will be near 75.

MONDAY: Still hot and sunny. Afternoon thunderstorms. Highs around 94. Nighttime lows around 71.

TUESDAY: Hot, hazy, humid. Highs around 91. Nighttime lows around 73.
